Definitely Not A Jalapeño

Habanero Pepper

We picked up a few plants from the local Star Nursery a few weeks back. Two of the plants that we bought were labeled Giant Marconi Pepper and Jalapeño Pepper.  Neither plant had any fruit so we had no reason to doubt the labels. Well, the Marconi peppers look like we expected and they’re not ripe yet; however, the jalapeños are a bit off. I suspect that someone may have swapped the labels. It looks like we have a healthy habanero pepper plant. We just sampled the first pepper off the tree, and it definitely had some heat to it. The plant is still in the cheap nursery pot. It’s a beautiful plant, and I should really re-pot it into a nicer container.
