Following the BART Strike
I’m not anywhere near San Francisco, but I’ve been watching the BART strike progess over the the last few days. There are many arguments for and against the strike, it’s obvious that BART and public transportation are critical to the San Francisco metro area.
I looked into public transportation when I moved to Nashville many years ago, but it was more expensive and less flexible than driving into work. I’d use it if there was some benefit, but I could not find any. Even now we (that’s the royal we) are content to gripe about how bad our commute is, yet we don’t want to build any public transporation infrastructure. Nashville continues to gain recognition and grow, but we’ve barely made any stides for light rail or improved bus service. Are we going to wait until we’re all sitting in traffic for 2 hours to get to work?
