Native American?

I’m in a few English language chat groups, and some people get pretty excited by the fact that I’m American. Once they find out that I’m in American, they want to know how long I’ve been here. Well, I’ve been here since birth, and I’m not ABC (American born Chinese) either. So they say I’m native American. I chuckle a little, and then I have to explain that native American has a different connotation here in the states.

I’ve had a few offers to trade English for Chinese help which I think is pretty fair trade. I’m amazed at how technical the questions are. Sometimes they give me flashbacks of my elementary school English classes. Truthfully, I had to look up past participle meant. I guess there are quite a few things that just come naturally as a native American.
