Experimenting

I just got a new laptop yesterday. It’s a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with Windows Vista Home Premium. I’ve seen Vista and heard/read many stories about it, but this is my first official interaction with it. I haven’t really done anything too exciting with it yet, just some light surfing. I did install Pidgin, but that was it. Tonight I downloaded a copy of Ubuntu 8.0.4 to give a try. If everything works OK, I’ll be reloading this with Ubuntu. So far, so good. It booted up without issues, and I was able to jump on the wireless connection right away to make this post. Now it’s time to statrt tinkering to make sure that all of the hardware is supported.
